Equity in Computer Science

In this workshop participants will use their devices to create and code a website. Using the Skill Struck platform, participants will learn how to design the layout of a website to include images, videos, colors, and many other elements. We will also cover the diversity gap in the tech field and how school leaders can be the change. To do this, we will show our case study with Moreno Valley Unified School District and how they increased computer science enrollment by 43% among Latinx, female, and black students. We will go over the tools that aided MVUSD in their success of increasing underrepresented students' involvement in computer science. We hope to provide educators with a proven pathway to ignite their students' potential and equip students with the tools necessary to be best prepared for 21st-century jobs.

How to Recover Fast and Reliably from a Ransomware Attack with Rubrik

With ransomware attacks increasing more than any time in history, protecting your data and having a recoverable copy should be a top agenda item. And, cybercriminals are getting smarter, targeting legacy data protection technologies to encrypt your backup data so you can’t recover and must pay the ransom. These strategies are driving the need for modern data protection solutions to ensure quality backups these threat actors can’t access. Attend this presentation to learn how schools such as Stanislaus County Office of Education, Modesto Schools, Turlock Unified School District, and Ceres USD are securing their data to recover any virtual system in five minutes or less — and most importantly, avoid paying ransoms.
